Going all in…

It was not easy deciding to take the plunge and start my own business. It was something I went back and forth with for a very long time. I have been doing photography “on-the-side” for YEARS but I have always been worried about going full time. So, a few months ago, when my husband brought to my attention that I never had any free time we decided it was time to make a change. I was working a day job from 8:30am – 5:30pm Monday through Friday then in the evenings and on weekends I was working on my photography so I was pretty much constantly busy. On the off chance I did have some down time though I was too tired to do anything and just ended up veging out on the couch. So, Chris and I sat down and really discussed the pros and cons of me starting my photography career. The first thing we had to discuss was money, obviously, since this job is not the most stable of incomes… We decided, though we would have to make some financial changes (no Starbucks everyday, boo 🙁 …), this was actually a good time for me to do it. We also discussed how nice it would be to have a flexible schedule finally, and to be able to work from home with our pups and mostly how nice it will be to actually get to hang out with each other because I will only have 1 job again! So we went for it! And on June 19th I had my last day with the day job and started my dream job! And though I am just shy of 1 month doing it, I can tell it was the best decision I ever made! (Aside from the decision to marry my amazingly supportive and sweet husband that is!)

Its a rare thing to get to follow your dreams… and I can promise you I will not be taking this opportunity for granted… I read a quote once that said “Life isn’t about avoiding risks. It’s about going all in on the things you love!” So, I’m going all in…
